Episode 3 of Temptation Island is in the books. We got a Disco Party and our first potential sexual encounter! I decided to breakdown the status of all the relationships as well as the stand-out singles.

Erica & Kendal

Kendal’s relationship on the Island with Alexcys continues to advance. The final scene from this week’s episode somewhat leads you to believe they are about to take a massive jump as the episode ends with Alexcys in his bedroom. No clothes are off; nothing has gone too over the line, yet, she is lingering in such a way that makes it seem like they both want to fuck. He even says you can stay if you want at the end. With Kendal, it’s hit a point where I want him to go all-in, have sex with Alexcys, maybe try to hook up with some other girls, and really show you have no rules or inhibitions. I want that so Erica can fully disconnect and enjoy her time on the Island because she has so much potential as a reality television character. Right now, she is being held back by her overall respect for her and Kendal’s relationship.

In her relationship, she is used to Kendal being selfish. It was a telling sign when she was shocked that the men could cook and serve food. As she spends more time on the Island, she enjoys having men worship the ground she walks on. Originally, it felt to me as though she was connecting with Jesse early on as it would be easy to friend-zone him. As she slowly warms up to the idea of a life outside of a relationship with Kendal, she looks at Jesse and is like, “wait, he is actually kinda cute.” I don’t think the two are much of a match, but he could be a gateway to either someone more on her level on the Island, in real life, or even an Ex on the Beach type show.

Erin & Corey

Of all the women on the Island, Erin has thrown herself into the experience the most. The problem is, the guys are duds. There are two types of guys as viable options: less attractive versions of their existing boyfriends or attractive with the worst personalities imaginable. She went on a date with Shaquille, and she really wants to find someone who will excite her; however, every sentence that came out of his mouth felt as though it could be said to any other girl on the Island. That’s either a lateral move or a net loss compared to your existing relationship. Erin had the realization that maybe she is the problem in their relationship, which is a huge breakthrough. The issue with that is an Island now separates her, and the women on the Island are warming to him.

Corey vibed well with Amanda this week, took her on a date, and as a whole, is embracing the experience more and more. Corey definitely wins the MVP this week attempting to manage an emotional Nicole. She was distraught that Corey asked Amanda to go on a date and did not immediately inform her. The fact he made an effort to console her despite only knowing her for about three days and having an actual girlfriend shows you he is a good guy. Part of me does feel that Nicole was so upset that Corey asked another girl on a date because she thought he was the most stable/boring guy and wouldn’t attempt to mingle with other women, the same way in which Erin went to Temptation Island for an adventure. Erica said in Episode 1, don’t drop a Dime for Nickel; with Corey, it’s more like, don’t drop 8 cents for a nickel.

Kristen & Julian

Another week where it seems as though Temptation Island might be healthy for their relationship. Julian has not crossed any major lines and seems committed to marrying Kristen. The question is, will the male suitors’ attention be the driving force to push Kristen away potentially. Julian made it known that he has wanted to propose to Kristen; the problem is, she probably would not say yes. Likewise, even though Kristen does not have 100% trust in Julian, she is not emotionally ready for the repercussions of an 11-year break-up. I’ve had rough break-ups after nine-month relationships where figuring out what we were going to do with the mutual streaming services we used to share was an issue. When you share a living space and your families have become interconnected, splitting up would be devastating.

At the same time, that might be a band-aid you need to rip off. Although, if Julian can’t get through Temptation Island without making out with any of the singles and prove to Kristen that she can trust him, then that would be legitimately awesome. As much as I love a good mess, cast members staying completely faithful is out of the norm enough to be exciting in its own right.

Chelsea & Thomas

It was a rough week for Chelsea. The guy she has connected with the most (Dr. Blake) displays many of the bad qualities in her relationship with Thomas. Chelsea wants to have a good experience on the Island, and it sucks when your experience on both ends (dealing with singles and your boyfriend comingling) is going poorly. It is a worse scenario where the positive is at least happened this early. This is not something you want to realize near the end of your time on the Island. Now, she has time to evaluate whether she is projecting too much of her issues with Thomas onto Dr. Blake or if she wants to go in a different direction.

Thomas had a bad week as well, in my opinion. He had a date with Sophia where it’s quite evident that he is in lust with her. It makes sense; Sophia is physically super attractive, is flirty, will take your attention and run with it. Like Shaquille, I can’t help feeling Sophia uses a very generic flirt/pick-up game and is not actually that into Thomas. Thomas is eating it up because he is a simple man with a huge ego that needs to be fed, and a 22-year-old bombshell Latina make-up artist feeds pretty damn well.

Stand Out Singles:

Alexcys: From Day 1, Alexcys was hellbent on making a single her man and has not taken her foot off the gas. Temptation Island All Star.

Dr. Blake: He got exposed as a potential pot-stirrer, and is relationship with Chelsea is maybe hitting an impasse. Tough look for Dr. Blake.

Amanda: She got to go on dates two weeks in a row! That is a telling sign about her personality/looks even if she has yet to be fully featured.

Jesse: Just like Amanda, super telling that he has gotten to go on two dates with two different women. Jesse stocking is trending high.

Sophia: She came to boost her social media following and maybe a fling with Thomas will get her some camera-time to do just that. You have to respect the hustle.

Shaquille: Congrats on getting a date.

David: Handsome guy, bad vibes and personality.
