Sorting the Challenge Final Reckoning cast into their Hogwarts Houses

In the year 2018, at the ripe age of twenty-two, I have gotten more into Harry Potter in the last month than I ever was during its peak. A common discussion among Harry Potter fans is asking which house someone belongs to.

If you watched the movies, you would think outright that Gryffindor is the best house to be in. In reality, Gryffindor is fit for people who are brave, seek glory, and want to be in the spotlight, but they also make poor choices and are sometimes not the brightest. Ravenclaw is the house that values knowledge, intelligence, beauty, and creativity the most. Slytherin is portrayed as villains, and that is because they will do what it takes to gain power and to win, however, Slytherin does require ambition and a strategic mind. Meanwhile, Hufflepuff stands out as the fourth house, the go-to for someone when they don’t fit the other three. Hufflepuff values loyalty, hard-work, and inclusiveness.

Now, in which houses do the Final Reckoning cast fall? I surveyed many Harry Potter fans who also happen to be massive Challenge fans. However, I will be making some executive decisions over some of the sortings. I am going to go through all the teams for easier organization.

Let’s GO!

Zach Nichols — SLYTHERIN & Amanda Garcia — RAVENCLAW

I made an executive decision to put Zach in Slytherin despite about 60% of responses placing him in Gryffindor. Obviously, people see a big strong dude and expect him to be in Gryffindor. However, when has Zach ever been brave? When he was pushing Sam in the desert, when he was yelling at Jonna on a mountain, or when he cheated on Rivals 2? Zach is a Slytherin through and through. His comments about women on Exes 2, is comparable to Slytherin typically being Blood Purists. There is a Ravenclaw angle for Zach if you look at his trivia wins.

Amanda was splitting between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, finishing with around 55% Ravenclaw. She values knowledge over anything. During Invasion, she dinged Nicole and Jenna for their lack of knowledge. Sometimes Amanda is a bit too cutthroat.

Sylvia Elsrode—HUFFLEPUFF & Joss Mooney — HUFFLEPUFF

Joss received votes for all houses (only 1 Slytherin), he ended up with a plurality of Hufflepuff votes. It makes sense, Joss puts in hard work to maintain his body, a typical Puff trait. I actually voted for Sylvia to be in Gryffindor as she commonly attacks her fears. The general public placed Sylvia in Hufflepuff by over 80%, which makes sense. Sylvia has worked a considerable amount since her first challenge and has always shown loyalty towards her friends, whether they be Lavender Ladies or Dolphins.

Chris Tamburello — GRYFFINDOR & Veronica Portillo — RAVENCLAW

There was one vote placing CT in Hufflepuff and one placing him in Ravenclaw. The rest he swept as a Gryffindor. A couple of people had problems with this placement as he has little to be brave about because he is CT already. I decided to make a small caveat that CT is a half-giant in Gryffindor.

Similar to Amanda, Veronica saw a split between Ravenclaw and Slytherin with a decent bit of Hufflepuff votes sprinkled in. Ravenclaw had the plurality and I agree with it. Veronica went to Berkeley, she values intelligence and knowledge more than anything when it comes down to it.

Kyle Christie — SLYTHERIN & Brad Fiorenza — GRYFFINDOR

With about 70% of votes, Kyle ended up in Slytherin, which makes absolute sense. He did get votes for every house. Kyle is not a natural talent and he is not a hard worker. What he is able to do is charm people and figure out ways to put himself in power. Kyle is an absolute Slytherin.

Brad is tough, he could go Hufflepuff, and he could go Gryffindor. In the end, a slight edge went to Gryffindor, and while I thought Brad was a Hufflepuff originally, Gryffindor makes much more sense. He always put himself in the middle of drama in order to diffuse situations because Brad wants to be the good guy. Brad has made bad choices, but he definitely wants to be the good guy.

Tony Raines — GRYFFINDOR & Johnny Bananas — SLYTHERIN

Are you telling me the dude who yells Tony Time and will eat a giant bowl of mayonnaise with vigor does not want to be the star and does not show bravery? Tony is a Gryffindor. He did get some votes for Hufflepuff and some people tossed him Slytherin votes (this did not make too much sense). Besides a random Gryffindor vote for Bananas, everyone placed Bananas in Slytherin. He is a straight up villain who will do whatever it takes to win.

Faith Stowers — SLYTHERIN & Angela Babicz — SLYTHERIN

Both of these girls are not well known among Challenge fans yet and because of this the answers were all over the place. In the end, they each had a plurality in the high 30%’s for Slytherin and this makes sense. Their gameplan this season is hook-up to get to the top. They will do what they need to in order to gain power.

Jozea Flores — RAVENCLAW & DaVonne Rogers — Ravenclaw

Da’Vonne was put down by an overwhelming majority as Ravenclaw. She does not really seem to fit any of the other houses based on what we have seen so far. I originally had Jozea as a Hufflepuff, as did 75% of fans polled. Except the Ravenclaw votes for him made me realize something, Jozea is Gilderoy Lockhart. Gilderoy Lockhart is a famous wizard who gained fame through lying and passing off achievements as his own. During the second novel, Lockhart becomes Harry Potter’s Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. It becomes evident that he does not know how to do anything. This is Jozea in a nutshell. He wants everyone to believe he is intelligent and amazing, but he simply is not.

Shane Landrum — SLYTHERIN & Nelson Thomas — HUFFLEPUFF

When your nickname is Shady Shane, people will automatically think you are a snake, and thus put you in Slytherin. Nelson had a 60–40 split between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. In the end, he makes perfect sense as a Hufflepuff. Not many competitors work as hard as Nelson does to stay in shape. He is also completely loyal to his ride or dies: Hunter, Cory, and Amanda.

Tori Deal — GRYFFINDOR & Derrick Henry — Hufflepuff

I originally put each of these two in Ravenclaw. They are each talented individuals who are decently intelligent. Tori split a decent amount of votes between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, with a plurality going towards Gryffindor. This makes sense, Tori is someone who can be the star of the show. I can easily imagine her being a Gryffindor seeker on the Quidditch pitch.

Derrick had about 90% of his votes going in the Hufflepuff direction. He had a couple of votes saying “Squib” as well. People simply could not think of what house he belongs, so they put Hufflepuff.

Kam Williams — GRYFFINDOR & Kayleigh Morris — HUFFLEPUFF

When you throw Kam in the elimination arena, KILLA KAM comes out. She is a strong woman who portrays the bravery needed to be in Gryffindor house. Kayleigh is tough to categorize because Challenge fans still know so little about her. On Final Reckoning, she got in a jealous fit when Nelson was possibly showing interest in Faith. Her Vendetta with Joss was because he cheated on her. At the least, she values loyalty.

Paulie Calafiore — SLYTHERIN & Natalie Negrotti — HUFFLEPUFF

=

Unsurprisingly, Paulie was put as a Slytherin by 90% of Challenge fans after his performance on episode four of Final Reckoning. Natalie was an ambivalent figure who received the same amount of Hufflepuff and Slytherin votes, with a decent amount of Gryffindor votes thrown in. I believe she is a Hufflepuff; although she sometimes holds back her true thoughts, Natalie truly wants everyone to be happy and she wants everyone to have fun.

Cara Maria Sorbello — GRYFFINDOR & Marie Roda — SLYTHERIN

Cara Maria had a solid amount of Hufflepuff and Slytherin votes, with Gryffindor emerging with more than 50%. Ironically, I cast my vote for Ravenclaw. My belief is that when Cara Maria entered the Challenge, she was coming out of college with a 3.8 GPA and was the #1 overall pick of the Fresh Meat draft. I see why fans put her in Gryffindor because similar to Ron Weasley, Cara was a competitor who was afraid of so many things yet she approaches her fears and conquers them. Both have red hair too!

Marie received a healthy amount of Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw votes. In the end, she had a plurality of Slytherin. She is a strategic mind who is very ambitious, both in the Challenge and her career.

Hope you all enjoyed.
