Interview with Violetta Millerman (Real World Skeletons)
This past week, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to ask the lovely Violetta Milerman from Real World: Skeletons, a few questions. Real World: Skeletons was filled with cast of seven very strong, but very flawed personalities. The season was incredibly sloppy, but also incredibly authentic. With Real World rumored to end, this may very well go down as the last gem in the franchise.In Skeletons, Violetta was known for being very honest, too honest at times. She loved knocking down egos and messing with some of her fellow castmates.
Violetta’s Skeleton was her real life bully. All her life, Violetta battled with anorexia, and on Skeletons she dealt with the issues of having been bullied in the past. Bunim-Murray gave her the same treatment as they did Tony, and threw in two of her Skeletons during the same week
Violetta was super cool and honest in this interview, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Q: First, I wanted to thank you for being willing to answer some of my questions. Now, how have you been since your time on the Real World? What have you been up to?
Violetta: I’m currently back in school and I also work at a plastic surgeon’s office (drcosmeticsurg on Snapchat, check it out). I’m also bartending, so I can have cash for my travels. Just took three weeks off, recently, and went to New Orleans, Kansas City (to visit Sylvia), and now I’m back in Chicago.
Q: Since Skeletons aired after Explosion, how on edge were you guys when it came to waiting for the big twist?
Violetta: Never watched any Real World season except my own, so…
Q: What do you think of the rumors that Real World is ending? If Real World is over, you guys might’ve been the last good RW season.
Violetta: I‘m cocky enough to say that I think you’re right. Numbers don’t lie, and we didn’t have to use cheap tricks for people to watch us, people just did because we were generally entertaining.
Q: How tough was it battling with anorexia, then having to be in front of the cameras 24/7?
Violetta: It was very hard. Words can’t explain what my mind was going through, but in the end you can’t do it alone. Everyone needs some kind of help, even if they don’t say so verbally.
Q: Do you have any regrets from your season, and anything you’re super proud of?
Violetta: I wouldn’t change my actions during the season for anything. Everything happens for a reason, if I regretted something then maybe it wouldn’t have processed into something I was proud of.
Q: You and Sylvia were hanging out very recently! I love how close the two of you are. Is there anyone else from the show or any other MTV programs that you still keep in touch with?
Violetta: I’m relevant in everyone’s life who wants to be in mine. I don’t force relationships, they come organically or not at all.
Q: Has MTV ever called you to do another show? Would you do another?
Violetta: Not liable to answer that, however I would do another show just so I could get weird on it. I get a thrill out of exposing people for who they really are.
Q: Before this ends, I wanted to thank you again. Is there anything that people didn’t learn from Skeletons that others knew about, or do you have any bigger message that you’d like people in to know?
Violetta: Be good to others. There’s a lot of bullshit and hate in this world. Let go (of it) and try to pave the way to a brighter future. Our purpose in life is to make it better, everyone has a struggle in life, regardless if they talk about it. So be good.
