Challenge Vendettas Episode 1 Recap

Because so much went on during the first episode of the Challenge Vendettas, I have decided to do the recap in a bulleted list form. A normal recap would be superfluous, while also probably missing information or details you may find important. The editing of the episode was strong considering how fast-paced the show was while packing a ton of information into the show.

• They get off the plane and TJ talks to the cast, telling them the generak format of Vendettas, revealing the prize pool for this season to be 500k dollars. We get confessionals from Devin and Jemmye (looking like they are in much better shape)
• TJ talks about Vendettas within the cast: Cara and Kailah, LeRoy and Veronica/Britni. Fun fact: LeRoy is going to barber’s school.
• TJ reveals they will be participating in the first challenge of the season immediately. It will be a foot race that ends at the top of a 1400 foot mountain. Overall first place winner will receive 25,000 dollars (more than CT won on Dirty 30), and the last place male/female finishers are immediately eliminated. Also, the Challenge is overnight.
• The players will race to a checkpoint where they will be standing overnight. Players who arrive first will benefit in the morning by getting a head-start.
• We are introduced to Joss and Kayleigh from Ex on the Beach UK. They are exes who broke up after Joss cheated on Kayleigh with another girl. Kayleigh even introduces herself as crazy Kayleigh. Joss takes an early and massive lead in the race.
• Players arrive at the checkpoint and learn they will be standing holding boxes for six hours. Once their six hours is up, they will run again in staggered starts. Joss, Zach, and Nelson were the first three competitors to arrive, with Nicole Ramos finishing last.
• During their standing time, we get introduced to Kyle (Geordie Shore UK) and Rogan (Ex on the Beach UK). Rogan is a bit cocky in a pretentious way, while Kyle is cocky in a boisterous way. Both are handsome and good at confessionals.
• Marie and Cara Maria both take an immediate liking to Kyle. Marie calls him David Beckham. Kyle is interested in both girls, especially taking a liking to Marie’s “bum”.
• After the British folks get their time, we get introduced to Victor Arroyo and Natalie Negrotti from Big Brother. Natalie catches the fancy of Johnny Bananas — who is newly single. Meanwhile, Britni admires Brad.
• The night is over and players start the race in staggered times based on how they finished. Joss and Zach blow the rest of the group away. Zach understands how much 25k is worth and is pushing for the win, but Joss is an unstoppable engine. He ends up winning the 25k and making a name for himself on the first mission of the season. Limey.
• During the race, we are introduced to Melissa, another one of Kayleigh’s Vendettas. Kayleigh hates Melissa for stealing her man. The two have a history of getting into fights on shows. Rogan is shirtless and in pain from an old injury (slipped disk).
• Jemmye does surprisingly well and pokes fun at Cara Maria and Kailah who are in the same area as her. Victor and Nelson are struggling, it seems like Nelson gasses out after pushing himself too hard early on. Nelson bulked up a bit before the season.
• Rogan is in serious pain, and ends up lying dead on the floor. He must be transported up the mountain, eliminating him from the game.

• Nicole and Rogan are the two eliminated competitors.
• The most interesting good finishes are Joss in first, Natalie in fifth, Devin in seventh, and Kam in thirteenth. Surprising poor performances are Nelson in tenth, Cara Maria in fifteenth, Bananas in seventeenth, and Kailah in twentieth. Don’t put too much negative weight into the first challenge, only take the positives.
• After the Challenge, the players are taken to the villa in Spain they will be living in.
• Shane and Nelson both choose to live in rooms where they know fewer people in order to create more social connections.
• The house has a deliberation room, making the players speculate about the format.
• At the house, Bananas begins flirting a ton with Natalie. She has the same body as Camila, except she has none of the crazy.
• Brad and Britni begin snuggling up together. Brad name drops his last Challenge being Cutthroat, forcing MTV to show a clip from eight years ago with much worse resolution. He talks about being divorced from Tori.
• Cory is sitting with Alicia. She lets it be known the two have been essentially dating for the past couple months before the show filmed. Alicia is more into Cory than he is into her.
• Kam side-eyes Alicia as she talks to Cory. They are an AYTO Vendetta. She later approaches Cory, informing him to be wary of her.
• It does not take long for Brad and Britni’s relationship to move forward as they have sex in the bathroom with little discretion.
• Bananas once again makes an advance towards Natalie. She is a bit confused a bit by the situation, though she does entertain the idea.
• While drunk, Marie goes to Natalie to inform her to not trust Cara Maria. Victor (Big Brother) talks to Joss about keeping his ears and open and his voice low. Alicia is stressed about the house/game aspect and says she will be doing whatever Cory wants.
• With Zach/Marie, Kayleigh explains the person she is, and they call her the British Marie.
• A plastered Marie begins making out with Kyle. Cara Maria sulks over the fact in the corner. When out on the patio, Kyle and Marie begin talking, Marie tells him she does understand a word he says but is thoroughly attracted to him. Kyle feels like a piece of meat and tells us in confessional he’d have rather hooked up with Cara Maria first.
• They pack in the Bananas toast at the end of the episode. He is visibly drunk — the drunkest he has been on a show in years.
